Toward Liquor Balance, an upcoming book by attorney Kristina Perry Alexander, is a historical examination of the racial motivations behind the policies of social control that encompass America’s alcohol laws. Using Critical Race Theory to examine centuries of alcohol regulation, this book provides a clear lens through which to see the racism underlying many public health and safety measures concerning alcohol.
